Setting Up Your 75 Hard Challenge

Step 1: Start the Challenge

Open FORGE and navigate to the Challenges tab. Select "75 Hard" from the pre-built challenges. You'll see all five daily requirements:

  1. Two 45-minute workouts (one outdoor)
  2. Follow a diet (no alcohol, no cheat meals)
  3. Drink one gallon of water
  4. Read 10 pages of non-fiction
  5. Take a progress photo

Tap "Start Challenge" and select your start date.

Step 2: Customize Your Diet

75 Hard requires following a diet—any diet—with zero deviations. In FORGE, you can:

  • Select from popular diet templates (keto, macro counting, etc.)
  • Create a custom diet with your own rules
  • Simply track adherence without logging specifics

The key is defining what "on plan" means for you, then tracking it daily.

Step 3: Set Up Notifications

FORGE can remind you throughout the day:

  • Morning: Start your day, take your photo
  • Mid-day: Water check-in, first workout reminder
  • Evening: Second workout, reading, final water push
  • Night: Daily review and logging prompt

Daily Tracking Workflow

Morning Routine

1. Take Your Progress Photo

FORGE prompts you each morning. The app guides you to:

  • Stand in the same spot
  • Use consistent lighting
  • Capture front, side, and back views
  • Photos are stored privately and can be compared over time

2. Start Your Water Tracking

Tap the water icon to begin tracking. FORGE shows:

  • Visual gallon progress (fills as you log)
  • Ounces remaining
  • Pace indicator (are you on track?)
  • Quick-add buttons (8oz, 16oz, 32oz)

First Workout

Log your first workout in detail:

Before You Start

  • Select "Workout 1" from your daily tasks
  • Choose workout type (strength, cardio, sport, etc.)
  • Mark if this is your outdoor workout

During Your Workout

  • Use the built-in timer (45-minute minimum)
  • Log exercises, sets, reps, and weights
  • The timer ensures you hit the full 45 minutes

After Your Workout

  • Workout auto-saves when timer completes
  • Add notes about how it felt
  • Rate difficulty and energy level

Throughout the Day

Water Tracking Keep logging water. FORGE shows your pace:

  • Green: On track for a gallon
  • Yellow: Slightly behind, pick it up
  • Red: Significantly behind, time to catch up

Diet Adherence Log meals if you're tracking macros, or simply confirm adherence at end of day.

Second Workout

Same process as the first, but remember:

  • One workout MUST be outdoors
  • FORGE tracks which workout was outdoor
  • Both must be at least 45 minutes
  • They must be separate sessions (not 90 minutes straight)

Evening Routine

Reading

  • Log your 10+ pages
  • Add the book title
  • Track your reading streak
  • Optional: Add notes or quotes

Final Review Before bed, review your day in FORGE:

  • All five tasks checked off?
  • Water goal hit?
  • Both workouts logged?
  • Photo taken?
  • Reading complete?
